The Museum of Lincolnshire Life becomes the host of Christmas past when the Victorian Christmas Market comes to town next week.
The event is being held on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December at the same time as the world-famous Lincoln Christmas Market. This living history weekend sees staff dress up in Victorian costume, assuming the roles of aristocrats of the time, preparing for a traditional Christmas.
Margaret Thompson, Community Engagement Officer said:
“Staff will bring their roles to life in a particular room, so the lady of the house will be in the parlour, the cook will be in the kitchen and so on.
“There are also other characters such as the butler, the lady of the houses' daughter and the local bobby.
“Visitors will be able to meet and chat with the characters about Victorian Christmas, there will be crafts to try your hand at, and a quiz to keep the children happy.”
The event is free and the museum will be open from 10am until 4pm on both days.
