A push in the right direction at Lincoln 10k

Parents everywhere are invited to get involved with the famous Lincoln 10K Road Race, with the first ever Buggy Push at the event.

Get Mummy FitMums and dads can line up their pushchairs at the start line, and join thousands of athletes, casual runners, wheelchair racers and school children to take part in the event on Sunday 21st March.

The City of Lincoln Council, which organises the Lincoln 10K, has joined forces with Getmummyfit to introduce the Buggy Push to the race.  The special route will be 3.85km (2.39 miles) around the historic area of uphill Lincoln.

The Buggy Push will start at 9.45am and costs £9.50 to enter.  Entrants will receive a medal and t-shirt for the adult as well as a special memento for their child. There is also a goodie bag for each entrant who completes the race.

Keith Taylor, Senior Sport Development Officer at the City of Lincoln Council, said: The annual road race in Lincoln has grown enormously since it started 14 years ago, and we’ve opened it up to as many participants as possible, with separate wheelchair and school races alongside the main event.

"Getmummyfit helps mums and dads to get fit in a fun way that involves their children, so I hope that parents will take the chance to get involved with the Lincoln 10k through the Buggy Push. "

Kim Sutherland, Founder and Director of Getmummyfit said:

"Getmummyfit are delighted to join forces with The City of Lincoln Council for the first ever Buggy Push.  The Lincoln 10K is an extremely popular event and we hope the addition of the Buggy Push will encourage the whole family to take part."
