The Chairman of North Kesteven District Council has raised over £3,000 for two deserving charities.
Councillor Fred Ambridge, Chairman of North Kesteven District Council, presented the charities St Andrew's Hospice for Children and DEAFLinks with £1, 563.35 each on Thursday 29 April. Ms Angela Greenfield from St Andrew's Hospice and Mr Stephen Kent from DEAFLinks collected the cheques, with Ms Greenfield stating that children throughout Lincolnshire would benefit greatly from the money raised.
The money was raised throughout Councillor Ambridge's year as Chairman, via various events including a fashion show, a music concert and a clairvoyant night.
Councillor Ambridge said: "My year as Chairman has been very enjoyable, and it has been rewarding to raise money for two very deserving charities. The office of Chairman of the Council is very important, and I have been proud to represent the Council, which has so many achievements to promote."
St Andrew's Children's Hospice provides holistic care for children and young people living in Lincolnshire, Hull and East Riding. DEAFLinks provides support and advice to deaf people in Lincolnshire, allowing them to lead independent lives.
