North Kesteven District Council, Voluntary Centre Services North Kesteven and RAF Cranwell have joined together to clean up a stretch of road between Holdingham and Cranwell.
Twenty Royal Air Force officer cadets from RAF Cranwell picked litter from the A15 Cranwell Top to Holdingham Roundabout on Saturday 8 May.
The event was organised by Voluntary Centre Services North Kesteven, with North Kesteven District Council performing a risk assessment, providing equipment including litter pickers, hi-vis jackets and black bags, and collecting the litter picked up by the officer cadets.
North Kesteven District Councillor and Executive Board Member with responsibility for environmental services, Councillor Geoff Hazelwood said: "When a North Kesteven District Council inspection revealed that litter was building up along the A15 between Holdingham and Cranwell, we worked together with Voluntary Centre Services North Kesteven and RAF Cranwell to tackle the problem."
"The officer cadets, who graciously gave up their time on Saturday, did a tremendous job, collecting a large amount of litter. It is always rewarding to see a picturesque stretch of rural road cleared of litter."
