Volunteers and local artists have been thanked by East Lindsey District Council for their help and support when the international arts festival, SEAS, came to Skegness and Mablethorpe at the end of September and beginning of October.
As well as an opportunity to thank those involved in the organisation of the festival, the meeting, which took place at the Embassy Theatre on Monday, November 16, 2009, was an opportunity to look at what had worked well during the festival and what could be improved on for the future.
East Lindsey District Council’s Arts Officer, Nicki Gardener, said: “It was great to see such a mix of people at the meeting, which 63 people attended, and I was pleased to be able to present the volunteers and artists with certificates to recognise their involvement in the festival. Without their help and dedication, SEAS almost certainly wouldn’t have been as successful as it has been, with many of the events attracting more people than they did when they were touring the continent.”
The Council’s Events Team is now working on the funding applications for SO 2010, which will take place on July 22, 23, 24 and 25.
