Councillor Critical of New Skegness Guide

A District Councillor is critical of Lincolnshire Tourism's new Skegness and Mablethorpe guide for not including the Jolly Fisherman.

Councillor John Byford, a District Councillor at East Lindsey District Council, criticised the guide for being uninspiring, generic and not including the traditional Jolly Fisherman in the guide.  Councillor Byford is reported as saying:

"The Jolly Fisherman has been promoting this town for the last 100 years and he's nowhere to be seen."

The Councillor has reported to have taken his concerns to the new Skegness Town Manager, Stefan Krause, and aims to ensure that the District Council has a greater input into the development of future tourism guides relating to the area.
