Officers from Louth Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team have joined forces with the East Lindsey District Council Dog Warden to host a dog micro-chipping session at the Police station in Holton-Le-Clay on Tuesday 28 September.
The event will run between 12 noon and 2pm and offers local residents the opportunity to protect their pet at the competitive rates of £10 per dog. Microchips are the size of a grain of rice and are easily implanted in the area of a dog's shoulder blade, offering a permanent proof of identity and enabling the Dog Warden to reunite owner and dog quickly if the dog becomes lost.
While Sue Garland, the Dog Warden, is fitting the chips, pet owners will have the chance to chat to their local Policing team and to discuss any issues of concern.
PCSO Dean Warrilow has organised the session and hopes that as many people as possible will take advantage of the opportunity.
"Micro-chipping is an inexpensive way of protecting a beloved pet and holding the sessions here in the village makes it easy and convenient for local residents to simply drop by. After the micro-chipping, Sue and I will be conducting a joint foot patrol around Holton-Le-Clay and will be on hand to offer advice on dog-related matters such as dog fouling and muzzling".
Anyone who is unable to make the drop-in session can make an appointment to have their dog micro-chipped (East Lindsey residents only) by calling the Dog Warden service on 01507 601111.
