Young people in Lincolnshire are being asked to use their ‘taste’ for art to design a poster promoting healthy eating in Boston. The posters will be judged at a special food event on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June at Boston Stump, aimed at promoting cooking and healthy eating in the town.
The event will include a Tastes of Lincolnshire food fair, and free cookery demonstrations by local celebrity chef Rachel Green, with the whole event being included in a special feature in Good Taste magazine.
Mary Powell, Tourism Development Manager, said:
“We’re hoping that this event will appeal to people of all ages, including the current generation of adults that missed out on learning to cook at school. They may now be having children, and are keen to learn how to improve their cooking and to eat more healthily.
“Rachel Green makes cooking fun and easy and is great at entertaining the crowds as well as teaching willing volunteers some healthy, popular recipes.”
The poster competition is open for children up to the age of 12 and posters should convince people in Boston to eat more healthily. Children can bring their posters along on before 1pm on either Saturday or Sunday to the Tastes of Lincolnshire stand for judging and prize-giving.
