East Lindsey is the place to be this summer if you’re a lawn bowls enthusiast.

East Lindsey District Council is currently organising a series of competitions and is encouraging both local people and visitors to sign up to take part.

Bernice Wilson who lead the bowls events, said: “Bowls is a great way to bring people together to have fun.  As well as the social benefits and the healthy competition it keeps you fit and active.”

Bowls tournaments will take place as follows:

• Louth’s Charles Street Recreation Ground will host two tournaments the Open Pairs on Saturday, July 11 and Open Triples on Saturday, August 8.  Closing dates for entries are Thursday, June 11 and Wednesday July 8, respectively.  Cost: Open Pairs - £7.70. Open Triples £11.60
• Jubilee Park in Woodhall Spa will host an Open Triples tournament on Saturday, July 25.  Closing date for entities is Thursday, June 25. Cost: £11.60.
• Skegness Bowls Greens will host the English Bowling Federation for a week between September 6 and September 11.  This is a high profile event that is always a major draw for holidaymakers.  Closing date for entries is August 6, 2009. Cost: Open Singles £4.60. Open Pairs £9.20 and Open Rinks of Three £13.80.
