Lincoln car parks to close for resurfacing

Two council car parks in uphill Lincoln will be closed for essential resurfacing works to take place in the coming weeks.

Langworthgate and Westgate 1 car parks will be closed on the following dates:

• Langworthgate – Monday 12^th to Thursday 15^th July
• Westgate 1 – Monday 19^th to Friday 23^rd July

In total, the two car parks contain 163 spaces, all of which will be resurfaced and remarked.  The nearest available car parks will be Westgate 2 and 3, St Pauls, the Castle and the Lawn, which are unaffected.

Councillor Marc Jones, Portfolio Holder for Planning Policy and Regeneration at the City of Lincoln Council, said: "This essential investment is taking place to renew the worn out surfaces and to prevent more expensive works later.  We apologise for any inconvenience that the closures may cause, but all the other council car parks in the uphill area and within the city are open as usual, so I’d ask drivers to bear with us for the short time when the car parks are closed."
