Lincolnshire Children’s Services has been praised by Ofsted inspectors in the latest Annual Performance Assessment, helping young people in the county get the best start in life.
The 'excellent' performance rating follows a recent inspection by Ofsted of safeguarding arrangements which reported that services were outstanding.
The very large majority of services, settings and institutions are judged to be excellent as is post-16 provision and most secondary schools. The number of primary schools providing a first class education continues to grow, nursery and childcare provision is good, as is the provision for children and young people attending special schools and pupil referral units.
Residential provision for children with special educational needs is good as are local fostering and adoption agencies. Performance levels nationally for exams are almost always in line with, or better than, averages for England or similar areas. Sixteen year-olds do better than their peers elsewhere and more 16 year-olds with special educational needs do well in national exams than their peers in similar areas.
