Latest update from Lincolnshire Police:
Police were called to Walkerith Road, Walkerith, near Gainsborough, at around 11.45am yesterday morning after a report from a member of the public that a suspicious package had been found at the side of the road.
A standard response plan was put into place, the road was closed and explosives experts examined and removed the package.
This was a lengthy process and the road was not re-opened until around midnight last night.
The device is currently being examined forensically and it will be at least a week before the results are back. An update will be released at that point.
