Fresh prepared foods and produce supplier Bakkavor have agreed to sponsor the South Holland Food Festival.
The festival runs from 19th July and ends in a two day food spectacular on 14th and 15th August.
Sue Bolter, the council's Head of Economic and Community Development, says:
"We are delighted that Bakkavor have come on board. The festival is intended to bring the community together to celebrate South Holland's involvement in food and Bakkavor, as one of the major food producers in the district, is an extremely valuable partner in this event."
Steve Broadbent, Managing Director at Bakkavor Spalding says:
"One of the key reasons we have a number of food manufacturing sites in Lincolnshire is due to the fantastic supply of fresh produce that we can source from this region. The festival offers a great opportunity for the area to be recognised for its food heritage and development. As a company we have strong food values and are committed to supporting our local communities. Therefore we are proud to support the council in this event."
The festival is already attracting lots of interest, not only from major firms like Bakkavor, but from community groups, pubs, restaurants and small businesses all wanting to play their part. Anyone interested in being part of the festival can contact Steve Kerwood, Events and Marketing Assistant, on 01775 761161; or for more information on the festival itself visit the website (link below).
