Plans to redevelop part of Skegness have been put on hold as the recession and tough trading conditions force the local council to re-assess its plans.
East Lindsey District Council had hoped to redevelop the southern foreshore to generate trade.
But after asking residents what they wanted to see on the site, officials have now shelved the plans.
A spokesman said they wanted to get the most out of the land and now was not the right time to attract developers.
