Sausage Festival – Back with a banger!

The ever-popular Lincolnshire Sausage Festival returns for its eighth successful year later this month.

On Saturday 30 October, the grounds of Lincoln Castle provide the setting for the Tastes of Lincolnshire BIG Sausage Festival. The festival has become one of the biggest events in the county, and last year attracted over 9,000 visitors to the city.

There will be plenty to get the tastebuds tingling, with more than just sausages on offer to tempt you. There will be many food producers at the festival offering local foods from cheese to ostrich steak. The fun is for all the family, and this year sees the first children’s cooking demonstrations, sponsored by Red Hill Farm. The demonstrations have been specially designed to appeal to younger children and most importantly – to make cooking fun.

Lydia Rusling, Tastes of Lincolnshire said:

"We’re hoping that this year’s sausage festival will be the biggest and best one yet.

"We are very pleased to welcome butcher Neil Curtis along to hold demonstrations in sausage making, and chef Rachel Green who will be entertaining everyone by creating delicious dishes which she will share with the crowd.

"To keep people entertained even further, there will be music from Sizzling Sausages and amusement from Europa Clowns."

The grounds of Lincoln Castle will be open for free during the festival, including access the old prison building and Magna Carta exhibition. The grounds are open between 10am and 4pm, with last entrance at 3:30pm.
