Rascals, Rogues and Ruffians is a family workshop taking place on Friday 25 February at the archives in Lincoln. People can drop in between 10am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm to discover the history of Lincolnshire highwaymen through an exhibition and complementary activities.
Jennifer Martin, Senior Community Engagement Officer, said:
"The event will be an ideal way of keeping the kids entertained during the school holidays. Families will be able to play a highwayman game, make a Venetian-style highwayman mask and decorate a musket barrel picture. There will also be an exhibition about highwaymen, smugglers and duels, featuring documents, muskets, duelling swords and the sort of ‘swag’ an eighteenth-century cutpurse or highwayman would have stolen - snuff boxes, purses and watches."
People are advised to book in advance, with a charge of £1 per child. The event is suitable for children aged 7 and over, but they must be accompanied by an adult. To reserve places, families should call the Lincolnshire Archives on 01522 567137 or 526204.
