Forget the X-Factor – the very best of the county’s young musical talent will be showcased at a concert in Grantham later this month.
On Thursday 21 October, 300 budding virtuosi from around the county will come together for the Lincolnshire String Celebration. All aged between 7 to 18 years-old, the string players will take to the stage at the Meres Leisure Centre in Grantham to perform an eclectic repertoire of well-known pieces, covering everything from the Dambusters March to ‘Kashmir’ by Led Zeppelin.
The members of the String Celebration Orchestra will be joined on stage by Lincolnshire’s Youth Cello Ensemble and String Chamber Orchestra. The concert begins at 7pm, with tickets available on the door. Entry is priced at £6 for adults and £5 for concessions, with school-age children free when accompanied by an adult.
