Long before the days of cruise-control and catalytic converters, the world of motoring was filled with fun and character. Come and see these classic cars for yourself at the Vintage Car Rally at Lincoln Castle on Saturday 14 June.
The castle rally is run by Lincolnshire Vintage Vehicle Society and this year is their 50th anniversary. Approximately 200 classic vehicles descend on Lincoln Castle each year and range from very early motor vehicles to 1980s classics. It is also an opportunity to promote the heritage of Lincoln with the society providing a vintage bus service to the LVVS Road Transport Museum on Whisby Road, southof the city. This year the event is sponsored by Rimmers Bros, a specialist in classic car spares based in Lincoln.
Felicity Bound, Events Organiser at Lincoln Castle, said:
“This event really is a trip back in time, to the good old days when cars used to burn more oil than petrol. It is not just car enthusiasts that will enjoy the rally, these beautiful vehicles will appeal to everyone.”
The event is open from 10am until 5pm. Prices are £5 for adults, £3.50 for children and concessions and a family pass for 2 adults and up to 3 children is £13.50. Heritage passes will not be valid for the day.
