Privacy Policy

What information do you collect and how do you use it?

The Lincolnshire Guide is committed to protecting the privacy of both users of the website (end users) and our advertising clients (clients).  We want the services we provide to be both informative and useful to end users as well as providing a unique service for our clients.

The Lincolnshire Guide does not collect personally identifiable data about end users, however we do use the services provided by Google Analytics to inform us of the number and variety of users who visit the website.  This information is collected using a cookie, which is a small file saved on the end users computer.  This file enables Google Analytics to ascertain whether you are a new end user or a returning end user.  This cookie does not enable The Lincolnshire Guide or Google Analytics to track users beyond the website.  Information gathered is for audience targetting statistics only.  Although collecting statistics helps us to benefit our end users and clients greatly, we do realise that users may wish to not participate in this.  Users who do not wish to accept cookies may use this site without any issues.  For further information on cookies please visit www.aboutcookies.org as well as reading the section below on how to reject cookies.

When registering as a new advertiser, we request basic personal information such as name, address, telephone number and email address, etc, so that we have a means of contacting clients on account related matters or to announce new services, and so that end users can contact clients with their queries.  We do not pass on personal information to third parties, except for information provided by the client for the purposes of end user contact.  Personal information will not be sold to third parties.

The Lincolnshire Guide do not currently use client contact information for our electronic mail (e-mail) marketing purposes, client information is collected solely for account related contact or to announce new services.  However, The Lincolnshire Guide reserve the right to introduce opt-in e-mail marketing to clients as an additional service at a later date.  It should be noted that such a scheme would be based on an opt-in method where clients would have to opt to receive the mailings, to protect the privacy of our clients.  Such a scheme would be operated solely by The Lincolnshire Guide and its' agents, and not by third parties.  Mailings would be no more frequent than one per calendar month, and clients would be able to opt-in and opt-out freely.
