In Lincolnshire, by far the two most popular tourist destinations are Lincoln and Skegness.

Lincoln CathedralThe City of Lincoln dates back to the Iron Age when a settlement grew up around what is now the Brayford Pool, and has subsquently being an important city for the Romans as it stands at the end of the Fosse Way roman road (modern day A46).  There are still Roman ruins to be seen in the city, and the city also boasts the famous cathedral and castle which date from Norman times.  There are also many historic buildings dating from the medieval periods and later.

Lincoln is now a vibrant city, with many places to visit to suit all requirements - from fun to historic.  The city centre is split into two distinct areas - with big name shopping in one and Lincoln's famous little shops and boutiques up near the cathedral.

Skegness is the jewel in the Lincolnshire coast's crown.  Formerly, a sleepy fishing village the introduction of the railway and the opening of the world's first Butlins camp nearby changed all that. With fun for all the family, and miles Buckets and Spadesof blue flag award winning beaches it makes an ideal location to spend a week or two.

There are attractions ranging from various theme park style entertainment areas, sealife centres, skate park, and so much more.  Or if you prefer the traditional style British holiday, spend time on the promenade, buy ice cream, and get the kids a donkey ride!

Up the coast is Ingoldmells (the actual home of Butlins!) where you will find Fantasy Island with its many exciting rides and events, including rollercoasters and the famous Eastgate Market.  For a slightly more sedate time, there is also Chapel St. Leonards a few miles up the coast - and not forgetting Mablethorpe and Cleethorpes further up the coast with their many attractions!
